jQuery Mobile is an open source touch-optimized web framework for smartphones and tablets. It will allow you to design a single web application that will work on all popular smartphone and tablet platforms. PhoneGap is an open source HTML5 app platform that supports 6 platforms. It allows you to author native applications with web technologies and get access to APIs and app stores. I'll show how to build a web app using jQuery Mobile with PhoneGap and share tips and tricks I've learned along the way.

Todd Stone is a senior software developer at HBS Systems in Dallas, TX, where he has been building web apps for smartphones and tablets. He's active in the local .NET community as President of the DFW Connected Systems User Group, member of the South Central District Developer Guidance Council, and as a speaker at local user groups and regional events.
