SUMMARY
This position is responsible for working closely with both internal and external customers by providing continued support in developing new and existing online systems.
JOB ACCOUNTABILITIES (Duties and Responsibilities)
• Provide leadership to the architecture team (internal and contractors).
• Helping to define technology vision.
• Participate in sales-related meetings with clients and potential clients to help articulate our technology vision and proposed solutions
• Understanding of design patterns and enterprise application development for both packaged and custom applications.
• Mentor members of the technology team with hands-on development work in high-pressure, time sensitive situations.
• Assist with the creation of client proposals, specifically taking ownership of the proposed technical architecture, estimates for software development and system configuration hours, and definition of specific technology platforms and products to be used in the solution- Develop software in a hands-on capacity by writing .NET source code (C#), developing databases using Microsoft SQL Server.
• Document technical designs, using flow charts, class diagrams, sequence diagrams, activity diagrams, data flow diagrams, database schemas, descriptive software component documentation, wireframes.
• Guide the technology directions by recommending specific technologies to pursue, suggesting training and staff development activities, and monitoring the Microsoft technology horizon.
• Work closely with project managers, directors, and account managers to ensure that client expectations are met and that project schedules and budgets are adhered to.
QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS
The following minimum qualifications are required in order for an individual to perform the essential duties and responsibilities of this job:
Education, Experience and Certifications:
• Bachelor’s Degree or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Background in Health Management/Health Promotion preferred.
• 5+ years hands-on experience in the Information Technology industry, specifically related to software design and development, database design and development, and system integration.
• 5+ years hands-on experience with technologies, specifically: .NET development, ASP.NET development, C#, XML/XSLT, SOAP, Web Services, SQL Server), Oracle, Windows 2000/2003 server, Active Directory integration (for centralized user authentication / authorization, Siebel CRM.
• 3+ years experience functioning in a lead technical role on large web development projects (e.g. $150K+, 6+ months, 3+ developers).
• Experience with an ESB tool and message based applications.
• Iterative approach to development, using short development cycles and frequent builds.
• Ability to accurately estimate software development tasks given a set of requirements and assumptions; ability to work with Project Managers to develop task-level project plans and proposals.
• Ability to develop secure solutions and knowledge of industry best practices regarding information security and defensive development.
• Hands-on development experience with one or more of the following Microsoft technologies strongly preferred: SharePoint/MOSS.
• Experience in FoxPro preferred.
