.NET Developer (VB.NET) – Telecom Billing Systems
Contract, 7 months
Location: Richardson, TX
Essential Job Functions:
Responsible for application/program development utilizing .NET technologies (VB.Net, SQL Server, Access, VBA) in order to create and support applications/utilities used by the client’s Accounting and Finance departments as they replace their legacy billing platform.
Required Qualifications:
• 5+ years work experience with VB technologies (VB6, VBA, and minimum 3 years with VB.NET)
• 3+ years with Visual Studio .NET and ASP.NET
• Understanding of standard SDLC processes and controls
• Demonstrated experience building Web Services using VB.NET and related technologies in a .NET centric environment: XML, XSL, SOAP, UDDI, WSDL
• Success building highly scaleable enterprise software products of increasing complexity using ASP.NET, ADO.NET, and VB.NET technologies
• Expert knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server, T-SQL, stored procedures, triggers, DTS, and data access optimization techniques;
• Strong SQL Server 2005 database skills (not looking for DBA but someone who is proficient in this platform from an apps dev standpoint)
• Experience with financial and accounting apps
• BA/BS IS or related degree
• Must have good written and verbal communication abilities
• Majority of experience should be within the telecom sector, preferably with billing systems
• C#, AJAX, Visual Studio 2005 strongly preferred
