Mid. Level Software Developer

C#/asp.net Mid. Level Software Developer in Las Colinas.
6 Month contract

Summary:  The Software Developer’s role is to design, execute, assess, and troubleshoot software programs and applications. This includes configuring, coding, developing, and documenting software specifications throughout the entire project life cycle. The Software Developer will also oversee system startups in a timely and accurate fashion, and provide support to other departments where required. The Software Developer must be willing to do requirements gathering, quality assurance, and production support in addition to new development activities.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
• Collaborate with end users, customers and lead developer in the development and initiation of new software programs and applications.
• Research, document, and implement program requirements and specifications.
• Consistently write, translate, and code software programs and applications according to specifications.
• Oversee the quality assurance of program logic, data processing, and error resolution.
• Develop an awareness of programming and design alternatives.
• Cultivate and disseminate knowledge of application development best practices.
• Liaise with network administrators, systems analysts, programmers, and other software engineers to resolve any defects in existing applications or processes.
• Take an active role in cross-departmental projects when needed.
• Recommend, schedule, and perform software improvements and upgrades for optimal performance of various applications.

Qualifications – Requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required to perform this job successfully.

Education and/or Experience – Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university, preferably in Computer Science or similar degree path.

 

Language Skills – Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures and governmental regulations; Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals; Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

 

Reasoning Ability – Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.

 

Someone who is never satisfied with their current level of experience and is constantly looking to improve their skill set.

 

Computer and Applications Skills
• 2-8 years overall experience and 3+ years of hardcore .NET development
• 2+ years developing complex web-based applications on .NET framework 2.0 and newer
• Proficient writing SQL queries and stored procedures on SQL Server 2000 +
• Solid understanding of database performance and how developers’ actions will affect that
• C#, ASP.Net, Visual Studio 2005/2008
• SSIS (SQL Server Integration Services) experience is a big plus
• Full life cycle development experience.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to translate technical specifications into code.
• Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Strong interpersonal skills, customer service skills.
• Team Player willing to pitch in as needed without question.
• Highly logical, self motivated and directed and keen attention to detail.
