Position Summary
Empower is seeking a qualified professional to join our team as a Software Developer. This role will be part of a team responsible for creating and maintaining the Empower suite of tax and compliance products. These products require using a wide variety of skills and expertise from architecting web applications that give customers real-time access to their collected data to designing and implementing user friendly interfaces.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for working in a team of engineers creating new features as well as maintaining legacy applications.
- Use skills in ASP.NET, VB.NET and PL-SQL (Oracle) to develop and integrate web applications for .NET.
- Aid in design and implementation of web services with WCF
- Help design functional and appealing web interfaces for customers to configure and maintain their data.
Knowledge/Experience Required
- Bachelors degree in computer science or a related field
- 2+ years work experience with ASP.NET/VB.NET, HTML and JavaScript
- 2+ years work with Oracle, SQLServer or other relational database system
- 1+ year experience with web application development
- Understanding of object oriented design.
- Experience with web technologies such as CSS, XML, WSDL and AJAX
- Experience with Source Safe or other source code repository
- Ability to intelligently discuss RDBMS technology and contribute to relational table design
- Strong analytical skills
- Good oral and written communication skills in English.
